Chinese Tutor PDF Print E-mail

If you are interested in learning Chinese, and are willing to pay a modest fee for my time, I can give you more practical spoken Mandarin lessons than any book or audio tapes will ever provide! You see, native speakers are great, but they simply don't have the experience of "learning" Chinese as a second language. I have jumped over the hurdles of knowing absolutely nothing about Chinese to becoming fluent and certified! I know the tricks and methods to get you up to speed instantly. I only teach colloquial, conversational, practical, get-the-job-done Mandarin. I can read, speak and type fluent Mandarin -- I am not the best handwriter of characters -- that's why they invented computers! If this is what you need, please send me an email or call me directly (512) 775-1780. If you're curious about my qualifications, please see my resume, I have been fortunate enough to have worked in Beijing for 7 years.

I charge a flat fee of $10 per hour / per person with a 1 hour minimum, paid by Paypal (send to " This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ") or Cash. I can do one-on-one or large groups. I have an office located at 35th and Jefferson that is very comfortable and relaxed. Please bring a notepad and you can record the session if you have a recorder. I have projection equipment and lots of multimedia material I can support the sessions with. If you order bulk hours we can work something out. This is hands down the lowest price for language tutoring you will find, many charge $20 or more an hour for this specialized language -- remember, you're learning the world's most difficult language!

Learning Chinese tip #1: Don't be afraid of a tonal language, tones are NOT everything... Mandarin is just one dialect among over 50 other dialects, your tones are not the hallmark of speaking Chinese, the way you use your words in context IS...

Using Mandarin, I can teach you how to:

  • Look for an apartment
  • Find a job and go through the interview process
  • Get over transportation hurdles
  • Make friends and be social
  • Travel around China
  • Buy groceries and eat out
  • Celebrate Chinese holidays
  • Learn Chinese language software

... and much much more...
